Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based form of healing that focuses on the subconscious. A comprehensive approach that includes guidelines for working with individuals, couples, and families using the principles and techniques from Dr. Richard Schwartz's model.
By going deep into our psyche, we can discover the various parts where certain behaviors come from and begin healing them by getting down to the core problem.

Ursula is NOT a Licensed therapist and is authorized to use this model under her Ministerial License. She is dedicated to her craft and participates in continual education with Internal Family Systems. She also sees her own IFS practitioners, believing that people who serve should be doing their own inner work.

Check for your own awareness of your parts

-- discovering how you experience thoughts, feelings and sensations

Gives you a way to look at oneself and others differently

Provides a way to work with "resistance" and denial

Can help reduce pain and suffering physically as well as emotionally

The mind has all the questions, the subconscious has all the answers.

At your first session:

  • You will come to a relaxing environment.

  • We will assess what issues you have in your life.

  • You will be guided through a meditative state using various imaging/imagery techniques so you can tune into your body and your parts.

  • You can get to meet parts of yourself that are causing the dsconections in your life.

  • We can heal them. You can be free.

  • Ursula offers IFS services either as a 1-hr session for specific issues, or as a series for more in-depth personal healing work.

According to Dr. Richard Schwartz's work,

IFS advances wellness in a number of unique ways:

  • By showing respect and appreciation for the client's protective parts, it reduces resistance and backlash.

  • It helps clients fully unburden the extreme beliefs and emotions accrued from trauma so they often leave sessions feeling lighter rather than labile.

  • The affect is regulated in a simple and effective way so clients are not overwhelmed during sessions.

  • It is the client's Self that is leading the healing, transference is reduced and clients do much of the work on their own between sessions.

  • Clients feel empowered and the work is often more brief than more traditional approaches.
